THE GOOD SCOUT - Recipient of the Be More Collective Grant

Ever spent hours trying to research and book a holiday that has wheelchair access? The guys at The Good Scout believe that holidays should be easily accessible to everyone and have created a solution.

We’re exceptionally excited to introduce our second grant recipient of The Be More Collective: The Good Scout, a website service enabling you to plan unforgettable trips without worrying about accessibility options.

Planning a suitable holiday that is completely accessible can be difficult with time wasted researching endlessly. The Good Scout allows awesome and accessible adventures without the worry. The website is much more than a travel directory as its platform helps you plan an accessible adventure with complete confidence and ease, knowing you’ll get the best options.

We want people to use our platform to discover accessible experiences, ultimately to then make awesome memories!”

The Be More Collective grant has enabled The Good Scout to refresh their website and plan for new features, like direct booking. They are also introducing their first campaign: 101 Accessible Australian Adventures, just in time for Christmas Holidays! This will coincide with International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), a United Nations sanctioned day that is celebrated internationally on December 3rd. It aims to increase public awareness of people with disability and celebrate their achievements.

The Good Scout is continually building their array of adventures and services with booking functionality heading to their website shortly. The SA Tourism Awards recognised Accessible Tourism for the first time in November 2018 and The Good Scout were so proud to see this award come to light. They are now working for it to be a national award category.

The Good Scout is no ordinary business, it aims to be the home of accessible travel in Australia. With involvement in community events, tourism awards, service innovation and The Be More Collective, The Good Scout’s proactive nature will continue to build a superb service for accessible travel.
